The nominations for the prestigious 24th British Animation Awards have been announced and we are overjoyed for our work to receive four nominations!

The event only occurs every two years which makes a nomination even more cherished and special to us.

We couldn’t be prouder that our new animated TV series of Paddington Bear for Studio Canal and Nickelodeon has received two nominations, and it hasn’t even been aired in the UK yet! (If you’re wondering how - we were given permission to show the Juries a preview episode) . It’s received a nomination in “Best Children’s Pre-School” category alongside the most respected shows in kids TV - Hey Duggee and The Clangers - and also a nomination in “Children’s Choice”, where the jury consists of a classroom of children… the most important and most brutal judge!

Our Short-form & Advertising team also clocked up two nominations for “Best Short Form” where our collaboration with Cartoon Network & Hope Works for “A Whale’s Tale”, an animated tale about the environmental issue of plastic in oceans. The second is for our work with Maverick Media & Nintendo for the Pokémon Go “Planet Pokémon” TVC in the “Best Commissioned Animation” category.

We’re also very proud that two of our #BZShorts films have been selected as part of the Public Choice category. “Ada” (dir. Dane Winn) and “Let’s Not Go Away” (Dir. Katie Gascoyne), alongside “A Whale’s Tale” which has also been selected. The short films are being shown at venues around the UK in the run-up to the awards, where audiences vote for their favourite, which will be revealed during the ceremony.
