Bookaboo Opening

Blue-Zoo were commissioned by Happy Films to produce front and end sequences for the upcoming CITV show.

Both sequences contain live action footage of the puppet character Bookaboo, composited into CG backgrounds, on his way to a gig and playing on stage in front of a crowd of screaming fans, or not as the case may be before he's found his inspiration.

The live footage was filmed on the latest Red Cam technology at 4k allowing us to control the framing at a later date. Working with such high resolution footage proved a challenge to keep the project on schedule but made the keying process far easier. All the backgrounds we're created from a combination of Maya 3D geometry and source photography, finally composited together in After Effects
